Brisbane is an Australian city commonly known to be the fastest growing city in the Western world. The city has experienced rapid growth since the 1970’s and 1980’s largely due to the political impact of visionaries Clem Jones and Sir Johannes “Joh” Bjelke-Petersen. Brisbane is the capital of Australia’s second largest state Queensland and has a population of around 1.8 million people. Reports say that the Brisbane population grows on average by 1,000 people per week, making it one of the worlds most buoyant property markets.

Brisbane traditionally has been a major city for port activities and markets and today the Port of Brisbane still has a major impact on the city, although it is now located on Fisherman’s Island.
