Brisbane Pick Up Lines
So this isn’t want it sounds like, sure I will discuss Brisbane’s most popular lines to pick up guys and gals but it’s really about the interesting experience I had in the Valley on Friday night. Who knew being a Brisbane SEO was so interesting, going out in the Valley for the first time this year proven to be an interesting experience that I will not forget for a while. If you are remotely convinced this is worth your time and not just most hyped up Internet Marketing copy writing BS then go straight to the next page. I could tell you what happened in this Optional Except but that would such ruin the surprise on what might just be the best or the worst Brisbane Pick Up Line. Continue reading
New Wordpress Back End
I just downloaded the new version of Wordpress from wordpress.org and configured for a new blog I am creating. The first thing I noticed once it was set up for the new design and layout in the back end. Being so used to the traditional back end I decided to have a bit of a look around the features of the new Wordpress version. Continue reading
More Search Engine Query Action
Last week I discussed the unique oddity of being ranked highly for both the search terms “best looking man” and “best looking site” while one of those rankings has increased, the other has moved off the first page. While I will turn my attention to ranking for more useful Brisbane Geo related keywords I thought it interesting to continue to share some of the keywords I am ranking and getting traffic for. I am sure you will be in for a few surprises as I was when I first discovered them so without further ado here they are. Continue reading
Meeting with Peter Newsome
Last wednesday night I caught up with local Brisbane SEO Peter Newsome and local Brisbane Web Developer Nathan Ridley. Catching up with both was a great pleasure and I really enjoyed my conversations about our plans for world domination and grandeur with both of them. Peter is a very down to earth and grounded guy who is easily to get along with, Peter shared a few content creation gems that I will be utilizing a lot in the near future. Continue reading
Hijacking Peter Newsome’s Name
This is a post about my unintentional hijacking of the keyword Peter Newsome in Google. Last week I just happened to make a post that exposed a revealing picture of Peter Newsome during his time off posting on his blog. You can see it here by reading the post below this one. Well it seems as per usual google dug the awesome content on this blog (to quote Ben Wilks) and decided to give me a double indented listing for the keyword “Peter Newsome”.
Since Peter and I have made an arrangement to partner together on some future SEO projects he is unlikely to be too upset but I thought it was funny to point out how this little blog is slowly aiding my quest for world domination more than I could ever have expected, one double indented listing at a time. For those of you not in the know double indented listings usually increase conversion by at least 200% and I currently as at the date of this post have the number two and three listings for Peter Newsome.
This post is mostly about being search engine friendly rather than Peter Newsome and I because we are not vein enough to think that you would be interested in reading about us. Continue reading
This Best Looking Man In Brisbane Competition has really gone too far!
I have been preparing for the roll out of my business plan to take my company from a boutique marketing company into a medium sized consulting firm. Last year I decided to some what childishly start optimizing this website for the keyword “best looking man in Brisbane”. Peter Newsome from SiteMost discovered the competition and also started challenging for the keyword term. Soon several other Brisbane Search engine optimization professionals were competing for terms such as best looking guy in Brisbane, coolest guy in Brisbane (harder than you think in summer) and sexiest man in Brisbane.
Most of the time now when people talk about what I do to their friends they do not mention the good work I have done for them, they straight away mention that competition. Although it is slightly cheesy to helps create the notion of what business is meant to be… fun! Since I never really monitor this site much I was astonished today when I plugged into into the Google Webmaster Tool and saw what came up. Continue reading
What is Search Engine Optimization Really About?
I was reading the CEBIT site earlier today and it confirmed what I already knew, Search Engine Marketing is the fastest growing area of ICT. The simple fact is there are new incompetent Search Engine Optimization and Web Development firms starting every day. Even I receive the direct marketing materials that these start up firms are sending out. Good on them for engaging in aggressive marketing campaigns, I’m sure they are very effective. The sad thing is I have looked into a lot of these companies and a lot of them offer SEO and cannot even optimize their own web pages properly. Most of them offer web design and development and I can tell they are using web templates from Template Monster. Now I cannot do much more than basic web design, however I do not sell my services as a web designer. I do outsource web design projects and project manage them and I alway make sure I deliver more than I promise. Most of these new companies promise the world and deliver nothing!
End of Search Engine Optimization Company Rant
What is SEO really all about anyway? If you are just getting started, you probably think it’s about keyword research, optimization title tags, writing meta tags, producing great content and getting back links. That is what I used to think it was all about, now my view has been enlightened… Continue reading
Brisbane Seo - The Amazing Race
Welcome to the new PeterLaurent.com web page. Today we are going to talk about Search Engine Optimization companies and which ones you can trust to turn up your profits and which will just waste your money. SEO or Search Engine Optimization is the process of successfully increasing the amount of traffic a website gets from search engines, optimizing conversation and increasing sales.
When I first started working in Search Engine Optimization it was a bit of a steep learning curve for me. The original domains I purchased such as powerfulattraction.com had no value Domain value. While that domain may eventually be very lucrative for myself or another end user in has no intrinsic value in terms of being keyword loaded, a great traffic source or SEO friendly. The best and most SEO friendly domains are those dot coms or dot com.au’s which have the highest traffic search volumes for consumers willing to spent money.
That is why I find it hard to believe several so called Brisbane SEO firms are optimizing their web pages for keywords like “SEO Brisbane” and “Brisbane SEO.” These keywords have little or no traffic volume, yet these so called SEO experts are optimizing for them. Continue reading
